G.P Rating

On successful completion of this course the candidates will be able to join as a GP RATING in Indian & foreign Shipping Companies as a GP crew and he can work deck or engine crew. With further sea service, they will be promoted as DECK SERANG, BOSUN, ABLE BODIED SEAMEN, OILER.

They can also be promoted to officer level with certain service & qualification requirements. There are wide job opportunities for our Indian Seamen all over the world.

Per-Sea Training Course: G.P.Rating

Course Duration: 6 Months

Age: 17.5 to 25 yrs.

Physical Status: Applicant must possess good health as per latest M.S.Rule

Eye-sight: 6/6 with out spectacles, without colour blindness.

After successful completion of G.P.Rating course, the course certificate will be issued by the academy approved by DGS govt. of India. In addition to that candidate will obtain continuous discharge certificate (Indian CDC) from the directorate general of shipping govt. of India as per the CDC rule.



Saloon Rating

Per-Sea Training Course: Saloon Rating

Course Duration: 6 Months

Educational Qualification: 12th pass with English min 50%. Age: 17.5 to 25 years. Physical Standards: Applicant must possess good health as per latest M.S. Rule. Eyesight: 6/6 with or without spectacles, without colour blindness



Engine Cadet

For BE/B.Tech Students: BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Naval Architecture: or its equivalent 4 year degree course with minimum 60% from I.I.T. or from a college recognized by AICTE/UGC. Due considerations will be given to candidates with extracurricular activities like sports/NCC.

STUDENTS AWAITING FINAL SEMESTER RESULTS CAN ALSO APPLY.

AND

English: Should have passed with not less than 50% marks in English as a separate subject, at either 10th or 12th standard.

Age Limit As per DG requirement would prefer candidates not more than 28 Yrs at the commencement of course

Physical and Medical Standards: Medically fit as per the standards set by Merchant Shipping (Medical Examination Rules’ 2000) and eyesight 6/12 in each eye without visual aids and No Colour Blindness.

Deck Cadet

On successful completion of this course the trainees can join as a CADET on board a ship (Indian / Foreign Shipping Companies). With further sea service and post sea training program, the cadets can appear for the second mate examination. After passing they will be joining as navigational watch keeping officer as second mate onboard a ship. With further sea service, they will be promoted to CHIEF OFFICER & then MASTER (Captain) of the ship.

Pre Sea Training Course: BSc. Nautical Science Course Duration: 3 years Education Qualification: 10+2 minimum 60% in PCM and 50 marks in English subject (either 10th or 12th Standard) Age: maximum 25 years Physical Standards: Applicant must possess good health as per latest M.S. Rule Eyesight: without spectacles without colour blindness

AND

One Year Deck Cadet Course
Diploma Nautical Science (DNS) is a one year pre-sea course. This course makes an student eligible to work on ship as Deck Cadet. Deck Cadet is the first most level of a deck officer or navigation officer. These officers are responsible for sailing a ship. To become a DC, one has to undergo a 1 year training at any of the IMU approved Institutes. After completion of 1 year training at IMU approved colleges and issuance of the due CDC (Continuous Discharge Certificate) students can join a ship as DC.

Education : 12th PASS with PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) without grace with minimum 60% in PCM and minimum 50 % in English.

Age Limit: 20 years at the time of admission.

Medical: Eye Vision: No colour blind with vision 6/6 without aid, Medical Fitness Certificate should be made from competent authority and the same will be verified later by DG Shipping approved doctors.
